The Registro Civil, Chile’s public records office, is the place you go to get your national ID card, get married and register your car, among other things.
Before heading over, check to make sure that the trámite (linkme) you need to do is not available online.
Always get there early and bring something to read. Since the Registro Civil is a national entity, you do not have to go to the office located in your comuna.
