RadioThe quantity and quality of Chile’s radio stations are on par with those of major cities worldwide, though some would say that corporate consolidation has caused the diversity of the genres on offer to decline since the beginning of the century.  The best way to find a station you like is to a) get in a car and hit the Scan button on the radio, or b) as you go about your life, listen for music you like in stores and taxis and at people’s houses and ask what they’re listening to.

Here’s some of what you can find in the way of international radio stations and shows:

But if you’re not specifically looking for Chilean content, the best thing to do is get yourself a decent internet connection (linkme), pick up some computer speakers with a subwoofer, download and install WinAmp or iTunes, and start listening to free, high-quality radio in all genres from around the world.

  • In WinAmp go to Online Services -> Shoutcast Radio
  • In iTunes go to Library -> Radio
